Things I Like…or Don’t

I am fairly certain that I wrote on this already but some how the entry got erased…Probably when they had those problems with the system. Anyways I wrote it on the season premier of Grey’s Anatomy. It was an Hour and half long so it is like a movie. Basically the hospital get evaluated and receives the 12th place for best teaching hospital nationally. They were first. This makes everyone tense and the Chief starts nit-picking everyone’s faults. An army doctor on leave jumps in to lend a hand after doing an emergency procedure on patients at the scene of a car accident. Christian gets stabbed with a huge ice icicle after slipping from “bad karma” and the army doc ends up kissing her before he leaves. Meanwhile Merridith tries to decide whether or not to let Derek move in with her.

The Guardian has Ashton Kutcher in a leading role and his character was the local swim champion with scholarships to all the prestigious schools in America.  Instead he goes to train to be a rescue swimmer for the Coast Guard.  Honestly I really liked it but I like movies about any kind of military.  The acting was good and it had a complex plot to keep you interested and thinking the whole time!

This was defiantly a DO NOT SEE of the year. It had an interesting beginning but it got cheesy really fast and did not let up! The while idea is that the plants of the world “feel threatened” by humans because we are so careless with the earth so they attack with a toxic gas that they all giev off at once to strategically wipe us out. Yea…….i don’t think so.

Hello All.

This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing HSM3 in theaters. I was disappointed because everyone in the theater was there to make fun of it except me and my friends. We managed to enjoy it somehow though. The beginning was awful. I mean it almost ruined my whole idea of the movie. The acting in the first 20 minutes of the film was terrible as well. From then on though…it was AWESOME. there were some really great songs in #3 and the story was good too! My only question is what on earth will they do HSM4 on. There is rumor of a IV…

The movie Thirteen is about a family that has a single mom and two children.  One in the later teens and the other, Tracy, is about thirteen.  She wants to be  popular at school and so she practically changes who she is to fit in with this girl named Evee.  She is the worst thirteen year old I have ever seen in my life. I don’t really think that this movie is  accurate of all thirteen, but it is interesting.  Tracy starts doing drugs and having sex with boys and getting piercing, etc.  By the end of the movie Evee turns the whole family on Tracy and eventually Evee and Tracy aren’t friends anymore and the family comes back together.

Hello friends!

I thought in the spirit of Halloween, I would review the movie that was created from the Broadway play Sweeney Todd. Johnny Depp is the dark barber in this musical. O yes, it is a musical. We know how much I love musicals. It is set in London, England, and basically Sweeney Todd, formerly went by Barker, returns to England to seek revenge against the evil corrupt judge who stole his family from him 20 years earlier. He kills people when they unknowingly come to get a cut and shave at his barber shop. Then this woman makes meat pies from their bodies. It is a very disturbing story line, but the fact that it is musical makes it strangely enchanting.

I know that the Blue Ray version isn’t particularly different, but WOW it was so different!!! The visual affects were so amazing. They were good in the original but they were outrageous in the blu ray version.  The music was enhanced too! This isn’t exactly a movie review as you can tell, but I was so blown away by the difference. Ive seen alot of movies in blue ray before this one and never saw the really difference in quality.  Now I know how awesome blue ray can be!

This weekend I FINALLY saw Across the Universe. Everyone that I know really loved it and I am not the exception. It was very creative. Using all the Beatles songs throughout the movie really made it cohesive, but at the same times really kept you interested in what was going on. It also has historical accuracy and the music matched the time and the story line. It was amazing overall, it had so many emotions. I think everyone could relate to at least one character in the movie in a personal way. Glorious.

On HBO, there is a new show called True Blood. In the show, vampires tell they world of their existance and there is all this political controversy over vampire rights etc.  It is very unique and quite graphic in terms of sexual content and gore.  I personally think it is amazing. it is just a step outside the box which is very refreshing!  If you have DTV I suggest you start watching. It comes on Sunday at 8pm.

Sorry I haven’t written recently, my husband was here for a short pass from is deployment.  Nonetheless, I watched the Jack Black/ Downey Jr. movie Tropic Thunder.  To me it was one of those movies that is funny when you talk about it to friends afterwards, but I didn’t laugh that hard during the actual presentation of the film. I felt like all the funny parts were in the trailer which takes all the suprise away from the experience.  Jack Black saved the film by being absolutely ridiculous in the very best way! hahaha   I would watch it again but not for money….
