Just to throwing something out there to get the ball rolling…..
This stuff is everywhere! I love how my sensation and perception class is unknowingly caught in the war of the imaginary and the symbolic. For example, we are constantly using the (soon to be dangerously out-dated) metaphor of a camera to describe the components of the eye, yet when it comes to the brain its all about computers.
Note that as a baby when feeding upon the maternal breast, there is frequent, strong eye contact between mother and child.

I was just thinking how strange it is that our identity at A&M is determined by our Student ID card. It prooves we belong here. We must have that card to do anything and on it we are represented by a name, a number and a picture.
Once when trying to get into a football game, the ticket checker decided that my roomate didn’t look enough like her picture. . .so to check her identity,she made my roomate recite her UIN number. The image was not enough proof.

oh dear, I can’t escape this class. I was flipping channels on tv, and what did I come across but a news report on a comercial where a teenage boy hits on his friend’s mom. I had to leave so I didn’t hear what the news-anchors thought of it, but I got the impression that they were concerned. I found the comerical on youtube, so here is the link.
