Waiting for Change

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Now that elections are over the debates and controversy has died down.  There are no more presidential debates to watch or pick who is best to vote for.  All of that is behind us.  Now we just have to wait and see the changes President Obama makes in this country.  Hopefully he will put alot of thought into every action he takes so that everything goes to better our country.  I fear that Obama will pull all or our soldiers out of Iraq and Afghanistan too soon and ruin what we have been working so hard to accomplish.  If we withdraw from the Middle East to soon, what will keep them from attacking us over here? Wouldn’t we rather fight over there and keep our homeland safe?  I know fatalities are occuring over there and in places it is a terrible situation to be in but every one of the men and women fighting for our freedom signed up for it and are gladly serving our country.

Safety of Obama

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

In May of 2007, Obama was granted 24-hour Secret Service protection.  This was only a few months after he started campaining.  Many people have already been arrested for planning to kill Obama.  I fear attempts to murder Obama are not going to end.  Eventhough he has Secret Service protection, there are many people that feel like they have nothing to lose so why not attempt to murder him.  It is pretty sad that Obama had to be inside a bullet-proof box the night he was elected as president to keep from possibly being assasinated.  Sadly to say, Obama and his family are always in danger and must have Secret Service around.

My opinion

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Throughout this blog process I never admitted who I was voting for/voted for.  I tried to be as fair as possible when discussing both candidates but at times I am sure I failed at keeping my thoughts out of my writing.  After receiving a comment to my last blog I realized what I wanted to talk about in this blog.  I, in fact, voted for McCain but am willing to see what President Obama has planned for our country.  I am a little worried and hesitant since Obama is all about change and I do not like change.  All we can do is wait and see what happens though, we have no choice now and why complain about what is out of your hands?  Like the comment said, “All we can hope for is that he gets a good group of people to show the way,and pray he will listen.”

What Americans think

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Now that Obama is President of the United States I wanted to know what other people think.  I found other blogs talking about President Obama.  Some people are supportive but others are nervous and hesitant to see what happens next.  If you would like to read what other peope are saying about President Obama, you can click on the links below to find some of the blogs people have written.

History in the making

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

President Obama is America’s first black president.  Many people who did not support him still see this as a great moment in American history.  It is neat that we got to be part of such a huge event in American history.  Most people are setting aside all differences and just seeing this as an important part of history.  There are tons of people that are disappointed in the outcome of the election but it is too late to do anything about it now.  On the other hand many Americans are thrilled about the outcome and would not want it any other way.

President

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Well it’s official, Barak Obama won the election.  We now have a new president.  All of the voting, campaining and debates are over with.  Now we just get to wait and see what changes Obama makes in the United States.  Will he follow up all of his policies?  What will he change first?  I’m anxious to see what happens now.

Election Time

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

One day left till elections! Everyone by now knows who they want to vote for and more than likely have voted.  If you haven’t, it’s not too late.  Every vote counts.

Many people are still trying to change people’s minds about the candidate of their choice but I think it is pointless.  Campaigns and debates have going on for a while now so if someone does not know who they are voting for now then I doubt they will make up their mind now.  Also, if you are trying to change someone’s mind about who they are supporting, I bet it is too late.  The point is if you have already voted it is time to sit back and find out who the new president will be.  Campaigning time is over, we are about to find out the new president of the United States.  I am about to see if the research I have done has payed off and find out if who I voted for becomes president or not.
