I just had to post about this. I recently re-watched the movie called ‘Waiting’ which is about the life of a few servers. This movie marks it down to a T though. The movie depicts one of the lady servers as a hardcore, mean, smoker, with an attitude that hated life and everyone. This girl plays the part perfectly! Every place I have worked, I have come across a woman just like this. A woman that will nag and bitch about everything, that hates the world, but when at a table acts as an Angel. How deceiving is this? I had to post about the reality of this movie. It seems almost every aspect of the video has come from the experiences I have had as a server, and I have heard many other servers say the same. Everything from checking out girls that come in, to making fun of customers, to the bitch-lady customer that has her food messed with… I have never tampered with anyone’s food, and I have never served food that was thought to be degraded (just FYI). I think anyone that serves should watch this movie and see how closely it relates to real life. At the end of the movie, all the servers get together and have a big party. The party reminds me a lot of how the servers from my restaurant party. It is so similar it’s scary.
