One of the positive things, for me, about serving is my ability to develop social skills I can use later on in life. Waiting has definitely helped me become more able and willing to talk to others I do not know. It has helped me become a better speaker, salesman, and thinker. Although, serving has also made me become a lot more reluctant to open up to people I do not know. It has shown me that there are some wonderful people in this world, as well as dirtbags. I have developed a knack for being able to mostly tell what kind of person some one is from first impressions. First impressions now mean the world to me. It also has made me realize some things about society, for example I now truly believe stereotypes are true, but only with certain types of individuals of different stereotypes, and that a wise thing to do is to not trust some one you do not personally know. I do have to say, regardless of what many believe, in my opinion with growing up around all different types of cultural background, the Mexican Nationals are always the best tippers.
