Most of us out there know how well we get paid. Depending on the employer, some of us make checks plus tips, some make only checks, but most of us make less than half of minimum wage on our checks. When we get paid we look forward to seeing those big 0’s. This is what most guests that come in to dine, do not know. They’re under the impression we’re making an hourly wage, which is true, and what they tip us is extra on top of our check. Well I hate to break the news to all you who are completely clueless of how things work, but most of us only make what we are tipped. Most customers think we have it made, so they’ll leave us 3 dollars on an 80 dollar tab, or something of the sort because their mentality is, “Why should we pay them for what they are supposed to do? Besides they get paid anyway.” Well to those ignorant people, STAY AT HOME! We don’t want to take care of you or more less even meet you. You are cheapskates that are willing to pay whatever for the food, but not for the service. WE/SERVERS are people too! We have bills to pay just as you do, so next time you decide to go out for a meal, don’t be a DOUCHE! Everyday I work I always get someone who thanks me for my services and tells me I did a great job, but then when I collect the tip, nada, nothing, zip, zero, well at least that’s what it feels like when you get less than 10%. I just want to ask these stingy people, “Do I look like I’m doing this for fun? Do you want me to go to your house and just be your bitch and receive nothing in return?! How about I just work for free?” Well you know how I feel about that? F*ck that! Is what I say. How am I supposed to afford living in my home and school, when your ignorant ass thinks I’m working for free?! It just won’t work out. A perfect example for this is when I had to explain this to my grandpa. Whenever my family goes out to eat, it’s always my dad and uncles that cover the tip, because no matter how much the bill is, my gramps will only leave 1 dollar. I cleared a few things up with him one night, and I am still curious to see how he tips now. Main Point: TIP YOUR SERVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
