Why are you giving me that look…?

Do you ever wonder what some one else’s logic for their actions might be, upon meeting you or dealing with you? Just the other day, I was workin’, just doin’ my thing, greeting tables, refilling drinks and whatnot, when I was dropping food at some one’s table and these two ladies looked at me as if I was some insane person speaking in gibberish to them. I repeated myself and they told me they did not order what I had on the tray. So, I named the items with a different, more understandable name, and they told me then that it was indeed what they ordered. As I was setting it on the table, the lady spoke to me in a very rude manner, telling me I was to take the food back because it was my fault she hadn’t finished her appetizers before the food came. I just had an “F-U” look on my face, and took the stuff back to the kitchen only to lay the dilemma on her server’s shoulders.
I decided to just keep on with my routine, and let it go in one ear and out the other. But, that got me thinking. I wonder if these people really do think I am some illiterate kid, who does not know how to advance in life and that’s why I’m stuck serving, but only if she knew that what I’m really doing is trying to pay for my house while going to school, all the while for the amount of time I actually spend working, I’m averaging roughly twenty dollars an hour. How much do you make lady? Over the years, the whole idea of stereotyping and being able to read a random person and their personality just by dealing with them on an everyday basis, has consumed many hours of my cognitive mind’s time spent pondering. The more I think about it, the more it pisses me off because it seems like such a waste of time. Life should be spent thinking about things that actually matter to its means of existence. I don’t think there is any type way to per say, “fix” this so-called “problem”, you just have to see it for yourself and view things the way you interpret them.
