I had some human references I created from scans of a “How to Draw Dynamic Comics” book.
I created the base model using a simple edge extrusion method. Starting with the pectoral muscle (naturally rectangular) I extruded extrudes throughout the rest of the body.
After extruding a flat silhouette of the model, I mirrored it and began pulling vertices inline with the side reference image.
From there I just cut some more lines to fill out and mass the model. Voila!
