Shiny…
I fixed the Eye-highlight issue, just created another light and used the Light Linking Editor to correct that. I gave the horns a shiny black material and I’m experimenting with different shaders for the skin. This is the shiny one.

Wow, that’s soooo shiny… I think a little less shiny would do the trick, he looks a bit plasticky right now. His eyes also look a bit glassy… you may try finding an angle at which they don’t look like they’re protruding from his head. Lookin’ good!
I really like this - very cute character and pose.
I would:
simplify the eyes/pupils as much as possible
modify your materials so that the horns aren’t mirro-like, and so the skin looks less-rubbery
crank up your BURBS tessellation settings
BURBS - Hah! I meant NURBS of course.
You might also smooth the cast shadow edges and smooth the background plane curve into something more gradual.
