Sirens
The wail of a siren.
Why does it always seem to be accompanied by the anguished howl of a dog?
It is almost as if they feel the very pain,
the agony,
the despair.
Why do I feel a stab of fear go through my heart?
Why do I feel my chest go tight and my throat constrain?
Could it be that we never know who that siren is singing for…
