About Daniel

About Me:
I’m Daniel, a 2nd year Master’s student.
By Providence, I’ve returned to the state of my birth for graduate school at Texas A&M University. This after a great four and half years at Auburn University.
Within the space you’ll find the digital artifacts of Sketch Recognition (Fall 2008).

Why are you taking this class?
Well, my original intent was to knock out another one of my required courses, but scheduling conflicts prevented such. Depending on how the class goes, it may be an act of Providence as well. Thus far, I’m excited about what is to unfold.
What experience do you bring to this class?
I just spent the summer starting development on an animation review tool for a studio in Dallas , which I hope to enhance with the knowledge gained here. A sketch artist myself, I bring my web development and computer science skills with an eager attitude.
What do you expect to be doing in 10 years?
An amazing father and husband, then whatever else God has for me.
What do you think will be the next biggest technological advancement in computer science?
Ubiquitous computing made possible by new forms of user input, touch devices like the iPhone being the first main stream example. Effective speech recognition, electronic paper that folds, and unobtrusive wearable computers. I just want to get away from box, keyboard, and display.
What was your favorite course in undergrad (CS or otherwise)?
Adaptation for the Short Film. Had the chance to take a short story and develop it into a short film over a semester.
If you could be another animal, what would it be and why?
As long as I could change back because humans have it much better in the end AND I could remember the experience, I’d choose some sea creature that could explore the ocean particularly the sea floor as there is so much incredible yet unseen stuff in Creation down there.
What is your favorite motto or slogan?
Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.
What is your favorite movie?
The Incredibles
Name some interesting fact about yourself.
In high school, a buddy and I did street performing for money.
