Modeling Assignment 1
Description:
This model was created using only spheres and cones. The primitives were only scaled, rotated, and translated to create this simple face. The parameters used to describe my model are the width and size of face, eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Changing these would make the face appear to be another character.
Project 09: LIGHTING & TEXTURING (P3)

Okay, I went back and fixed up some things and uploaded a new movie. Instead of trying to fit the whole environment into the camera, I’ve decided to concentrate the camera on the models in closeup revolving around the environment. Click here for movie.
Project 07: Character Shows Emotion in your Nursery Rhyme(P2)

For this project, I decided to animate a confrontation of Jack the monkey and a candlestick. I’ve added some moods and emotions to both of the characters. Hopefully, they’re recognizable. Click here for movie.
Here are some other screen shots:

Okay, I did some revisions to project 2. I made the monkey have more bounce and weight in his walk cycle. I removed some confusing hand gestures the candle makes at the monkey. I removed the part where it was playing at 10 frames per second and now everything is at 30 fps. When the candle claps, I made the background black so the flame is more visible than when it is white. I also removed the sweat droplet from the monkey. I reduced the number of camera changes and zooms. Click here for movie.
Project 06: Character with Walk/Run Cycles

Click here for Flat Gray Movie. * Note: I made this movie lower quality so I could upload it on this blog instead of mediafire, which has ads and links sometimes don’t work after a while. The biggest file you can upload on this tamu blog is 750kb so the quality isn’t that great.

I started by using the joint tool in Maya to create a pair of legs. I then used 3 IK Handles: Connected femur to heel, heel to ball of foot, and ball of foot to toe.

I created some more joints for the body and arms, and attached them to my candle model.
Project 05: Pendulum one two three ball(s)

Pendulum “Newton’s Cradle”
My first attempt is pretty bad. The acceleration of the ball swinging down does not exist. I’ve added that in the redo version. The decay seemed too unreasonable because I tried to make the pendulum come to a stop within 300 frames starting with too much force. If I started out with a smaller force, the animation would be more believable.
Project 04: Basic Articulated Figure (one arm)

For this project, I started animating my monkey character. I realized then that the character didn’t have more than one part moving so I started animating one of my candle characters. I then realized that the candle didn’t have three parts moving on the same structure, so I quickly made a arm and a hand, and gave it a skeleton with three joints. For the monkey and candle, I’ve used no skeletons or joints, just basic translate and rotate on the separate parts. I’ve included all the work I’ve done in one video.
