Modeling Assignment 8

Changes: Made the forehead wider, the bottom part of the ear stick out more, cleaned up edge loops.

The script remains the same: Well….let’s just say it’s a bad idea to bench press 250lbs and then suddenly sneeze…..(frowns).

Modeling Assignment 7

The objective is to develop the initial version of the face model that you will use in our final class project. I decided to try and model my own face.

Here’s the script the model will say: Well….let’s just say it’s a bad idea to bench press 250lbs and then suddenly sneeze…..(frowns)….ahhhchOO (sneezes)!

For this assignment, the goal is to use 14 different lighting setups on the expressions used in assignment 2.


Single-source lighting: Light high above viewpoint


Single-source lighting: Light above viewpoint


Single-source lighting: Light at the viewpoint


Single-source lighting: Light below the viewpoint


Single-source full face side lighting: light 45 degrees to the side and 45 degrees above the viewpoint


Single-source full face side lighting: light directly to the side of face (90 degrees)


Three-quarter pose: Short lighting


Three-quarter pose: Butterfly lighting


Three-quarter pose: Broad lighting


Facial Profile: Light is placed close to viewpoint


Facial Profile: Light is placed so it points directly at the front of the face


Facial Profile: Light is placed farther from the camera, produces a partial back-lighting effect.


Facial Profile: Light behind head hitting background producing a silhouette

Modeling Assignment 5

For this assignment, the objective is to create the facial speech postures needed to pronounce the word “Happy”, this time using clusters instead of blend shapes.

This first image shows the number of clusters used on the face model.
