The Lack of Lovey Dovey

You wake up in the morning feeling like scum. No one loves you. You do not have a boyfriend. Never have. You must be ugly, unwanted. You look in the mirror, see for a second a glimmer of beauty, but the world has told you otherwise.

No person is in love with you. You should feel like perfectly good garbage.

You’ve given up on humanly love. Once, you thought that someone liked you, was fond of you and then the episode ended in confused rejection. You can trust no one.

A person who is starving for love from another human being will daydream in dangerous portions.

Humans want to be loved and to have someone to love.
Something in us longs to be filled.
Girls want to be romanced, to feel beautiful.
Guys want to be the hero, to have a pretty girl by their side, or a conquest taken.

But since we are all humans, why are we so obsessed with finding another lowly person to fill our sorrows? Why are we pushing for all of our love to come from another human who is incapable of perfect love?

We get in relationships because we think we fill find love makes us happy.
Our culture tells us that that one special person will satisfy our every loving need.

But every hopeful ‘princess’ and every aspiring ‘prince charming,’ has been duped by a deceiving spell.

People are not perfect.
People cannot give perfect love.

We strive to find the ‘one’ and when we think we find them, we are unsatisfied.

Getting love from another human being can bring much happiness, but people always fail.

Nobody can be completely content in a marriage alone unless another factor is involved. People cannot find lasting joy in a couple built from imperfect people.

The happiest, fulfilling relationship is built on the love of God. That love never fails. God is love.

When we get all of our confidence and main source of joy from God, everything clicks. When your ’soul mate’ fails you, God is still there. He always wants you. Never changes His mind. He gives you flowers, adventures, food, your looks, air to breathe. He even died for you. Jesus can be your ultimate lover if you would let Him.

When you find happiness alone in God, when you “Delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart.”

God knows you want a relationship. But when you have a relationship that is God-centered, everything comes together.

Go to God first. He’s your true love. He knows what you need.
