logistics
Our logistics plan is designed to help everything run smoothly with an eye to safety and care of the environment. It is part of the Risk Management Plan for the event. You may view this information on the “logistics” linked to the top menu bar.

Howdy!
An email was sent to the list of folks signed up to volunteer for logistics at BioBlitz! Get excited! If you need directions to Lick Creek Park, look for the blue link on the ABOUT page (the pages are on the top menu bar).
When you get to the park, parking will be limited. Please park in the equestrian lot or on the road, to leave open spots in the main parking lot for folks who are less mobile.
Walk the trail to the registration tent in the main (paved) parking lot. There you will check in with me or someone else on the logistics team and you will get your volunteer badge and assignment.
If you are working Friday night or through lunch on Saturday, we will feed you. We will also have cold drinks available throughout the event.
Wear pants and close-toed shoes that you can get dirty. If you have an SCB shirt or Pre-Vet t-shirt, you can wear it. Depending on how early you signed up, we will have a volunteer T-shirt for most of you. I would also advise wearing/bringing bug repellant if you are working Friday night and sunscreen if you are working Saturday.
Also, we will be communicating mainly through cell phones, so if you have one, keep it in your pocket or somewhere on you if at all possible during the event.
If you have any questions or concerns, email me or call me at 281-610-0716.
Thanks so much for your help!

Q: What if it rains?
A: The events on Friday night are rain or shine. On Saturday, the booth tents will be moved off the Post Oak trail, onto the main parking lot.

We (BRASS/BVAC) will set up on and near the concrete pad near the parking area. Gander Mountain has loaned me a super quiet generator. Even if it is too cloudy for viewing we will pass out stat charts and I’ll have a projector set up [unless the winds get up].
I plan on leaving the Blinn van overnight.
Saturday more charts and solar session. I have my own pop-up shelter.
I have eight student workers from 9 to noon, five from noon to 3.
Thanks.
good post!
