Are Women to blame…?

Internationally and within our own borders there are four common barriers that are holding women back. According to Yu Dan Shi they are a,”male dominated workplaces, childcare issues, managing family commitments, and a lack of suitable development opportunities” she makes this claim in her article Difficulties for Women on the Rise. Are women to blame for their own failure to rise about men in the business setting? Childcare and family commitments are brought on by a women herself, if she choses to take on both and work then she should expect a full load. It is a women’s decision to chose family and birth over rising in the top of her business, this is why women do not dominate in the business industry of men because most women chose to take on the role of wife, mother and business women. One could make the argument that men take on the same challenge but if you look at the stats provided it will show that there is a great percentage of single men with the time to take on the challenges of a higher work position then the percentages compared to women. So why do women fight for equality in the work environment?

By speaking up women have earned equal educational benefits, opportunities in work force, and the rise of pay compared to that of men. These reasons alone women step in and make an awareness of the gender gap in the work force. Women chose several roles and because they take on these task they either become house wives or stay in lower positions where they can manage work, family, and their own needs all at one time. If its to blame or to thank women are the main reason that there is a lack of female body in the work force.
