Mother’s Day
Mother’s day, a tradition where children and father’s celebrate the life of the caregiver in the family. The one who is there to cook every meal, clean every mess, and fold every piece of laundry. The celebration of a mother who runs the house and the children. Though today this tradition is seeming to die off and rise to celebrating the hard work mother’s go through to balance family, work, social life, a marriage, and maybe religion on top of that. It is a day to show mother’s how much you care that they face several stress levels all in one day.
According to Hartmann equal pay would be the best gift to give a working mother on this special day. If it means making a mother’s life just a slight less stressful then it also means the rise of a great generation of working women. Hartmann claims that if the government can provide a stronger pay and support for working mother’s it only benefits society more, so is it a struggle to raise the salaries of women to that of men, what discrimination or power is holding this change from happening and how can we influence a law to bring our mother’s to equality?
